Our Mission
The Self-Determination Tech Alliance (STDA) puts technology to work for the developmental disability community. We build practical tools, creative and economic opportunity, data, and accessible AI, so people in this community can better navigate systems, share their gifts, and direct their own lives.
Our Vision
SDTA envisions a future where the developmental disability community has the tools, opportunities, and information to shape its own path. We work to build that future, where technology is created with and for the people it serves, and the systems designed to support them are held accountable.
Our Purpose
SDTA exists because systems and technology have too often been built for the developmental disability community without involving the people they are meant to serve. We began by helping individuals share their creative work, and grew into a home for technology that expands voice, opportunity, equity, and self-determination. We now work in collaboration with this community to ensure systems and technology help them amplify their voices, expand their opportunities, and direct their own lives.
